What to tell us when you book.
Over-ordering wastes money and under-ordering wastes a delivery slot. We would rather tell you now than send you the wrong thing.

The things people ask before booking.
If there is an engineer's drawing, it will say, and that is the answer. Without one, the rule of thumb is GEN1 for blinding and general fill, GEN3 for domestic foundations and garage bases, and C25 upward for anything structural or exposed. Tell us what you are pouring and we will confirm it rather than guessing.
Work out the volume and add a margin, because excavations are never as neat as the drawing. Running out mid-pour is far more expensive than a little waste: you get a cold joint where the two pours meet, and that is a structural problem rather than a cosmetic one.
Roughly two hours from batching in normal conditions, less in heat. That is why the distance from the plant matters and why the gang, the shuttering and the tools want to be ready before the truck arrives rather than after.
No. Adding water on site raises the water-cement ratio and cuts the strength of the finished concrete, sometimes dramatically, and it voids the mix you paid for. If you need it more workable, specify a higher slump or a plasticiser when you order.
Then you want a pump, or a volumetric mixer, and it is much cheaper to work that out now than on the morning. Tell us about the access when you enquire and we will price the right way of getting concrete from the road to the hole.
