What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device to remember things about your visit. Similar technologies (such as local storage and pixels) work in comparable ways, and this notice covers those too.

What this website uses

This website currently sets no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The only storage it may use is strictly necessary for the site to function, for example remembering a preference for the duration of your visit. Strictly necessary cookies don't require your consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), but we keep even these to a minimum.

One example: while you are part-way through a trade account application, your progress is held in your own browser so that a refresh does not lose it. It is cleared when you submit the form or close the tab, it never reaches our servers until you press submit, and your bank details and signature are deliberately left out of it.

The other example is the cookie banner itself. When you answer it, your answer is saved in your browser's local storage under uss-cookie-choice, so that we do not ask you the same question on every page. It records nothing except which of the two buttons you pressed, it is not an identifier, it is never sent to us, and it stays until you clear your browser storage. Recording a consent decision is itself strictly necessary, because it is the only way to act on the answer you gave.

Separately, if you reach us by clicking an advertisement, the enquiry you send carries the advertising identifiers that were in the link you arrived on. Those are read from the web address and sent with your enquiry. Nothing is stored on your device and no cookie is involved, so it is not covered by the choice above. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with them.

If you follow the "Get an instant quote" button to our quoting system, that system may set its own strictly necessary cookies to process your request. Any third-party service will be listed here before we introduce it.

If that changes

You'll see a banner on your first visit explaining our use of cookies. Because we currently set only strictly necessary cookies, no consent is needed. The banner is there for transparency and to record your preference. If we introduce analytics or any other non-essential cookies in future, we will update this notice, list each cookie with its purpose and duration, and no such cookie will be set unless you choose to accept it through the banner, in line with ICO guidance. We will not use pre-ticked boxes or treat continued browsing as consent.

Managing cookies yourself

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block all cookies, block third-party cookies, or clear cookies when you close the browser. Guidance for each major browser is available at ico.org.uk/for-the-public/online/cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how parts of a site work.
