The things people ask before booking.
In most cases, no. The rules changed in April 2022 and construction lost its entitlement along with many other sectors. Agriculture, horticulture and forestry kept theirs, and some other uses qualify. If you are not certain which side of the line you are on, ask before ordering rather than after.
HMRC can dip tanks, and the marker dye is chemically detectable long after the colour has faded. The consequences fall on the user: back duty, penalties, and in serious cases seizure of the vehicle or machine. It is not a risk worth taking to save on a tank of fuel.
Substantially, because the duty rate is rebated rather than the fuel being different. That gap is precisely why eligibility is policed the way it is, and why we would rather ask an awkward question than arrange a delivery you should not have.
It depends what the generator is powering and in what context, which is the same eligibility question again. Tell us what the machine is and what it is doing and we will tell you plainly whether it qualifies.
Common enough, and straightforward: separate, clearly marked, bunded tanks, and site discipline about which is which. We will supply both on the same account and the same invoice.
