What is worth separating.
Over-ordering wastes money and under-ordering wastes a delivery slot. We would rather tell you now than send you the wrong thing.

What we would not put in it
- ✗Small quantities buried in a mixed skip. Below a certain volume the collection costs more than the metal is worth, and we will say so
- ✗Anything containing refrigerant, like fridges and cooling units
- ✗Sealed drums or vessels that have held chemicals

The things people ask before booking.
It depends on the metal and the quantity. A meaningful volume of non-ferrous, copper especially, is usually worth more than the collection costs. Mixed light ferrous in small amounts often is not. We will tell you which of those you have rather than letting you find out from the invoice.
Cleaner is worth more. Cable stripped, or at least sorted by type, prices better than a tangle of everything. That said, do not spend a day of labour chasing a small uplift. Ask us what the difference is worth first.
Yes. Cable is priced on its copper content, so armoured, twin and earth and data cable are all valued differently. Keeping the types apart is the single easiest thing you can do to improve what it fetches.
Those are a separate route. They contain refrigerant gases that have to be removed under controlled conditions before the metal can be recovered, so they cannot go in a scrap collection. We will arrange them properly.
Yes. Scrap goes to licensed facilities and is documented exactly like any other stream, and a strip-out producing metal is often the job most likely to be asked about later.
